Contineo is a web-based document management system written in Java. It incorporates a search engine, a web-service interface, and versioning. Its front end uses AJAX and promises a better end-user experience.
A key feature of Contineo is full-text recognition, which allows it to search through almost all types of document formats, including PDF, Postscript, OpenOffice.org, and Microsoft Office. Its search capability also includes fuzzy search.
OpenOffice.org has just released the 3.0 Beta of the open source office productivity suite. This version includes new enhancements like MS Office 2007 import filters, ODF 1.2 support, and VBA support. Many of the new features pertain to the Calc spreadsheet component, including an optimization solver, workbook sharing, and 1024 columns per Calc sheet.
Perhaps the most significant part of this release is support for Mac OS X.
OpenOffice.org 3.0 Beta is now ready for download.
WordPress released version 2.5.1 over the weekend. According to the announcement:
It includes a number of bug fixes, performance enhancements, and one
very important security fix. We recommend everyone update immediately,
particularly if your blog has open registration. The vulnerability is
not public but it will be shortly.If you download the entire 2.5.1 release, you will be getting over 70 other fixes. 2.5.1 focuses on fixing the most annoying bugs and improving performance. Here are some highlights:

Joomla 1.5.3 released today. This version was released earlier than scheduled to correct a database name validation error introduced in version 1.5.2. There are also some fixes pertaining to xHTML compliance, JFilterInput, PDF, and CSS.
MyJSQLView is a Java based GUI frontend for viewing, adding, editing, or deleting data in the MySQL, PostgreSQL, and HSQL databases. A query tool allows the building of complex SELECT SQL statements. The application allows sorting, searching, and import/export of table data.

2D Order Portal is an e-commerce portal written as a Java server application. It is designed as a web front end to ERP and legacy application systems. It is available as a free download on SourceForge or as a $39.95/month hosted solution.
The free download versions were specifically written for and tested on Ubuntu Linux 6.06 LTS with Tomcat and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 with Tomcat and Geronimo.
